Working on the art quilt

May 27, 2009

A few posts back now, I showed you an art quilt I’m working on. I decided it needed more ‘oomph’ and my good friend Trish suggested couching. So I had a wee read, thought “I can do that” – and here is my first try. This area is the bottom left of the quilt top, where the grasses grow on the sand dunes, in front of the sea wall that divides the Tasman Sea from Patea Beach. My idea is to do lost of overlapping grasses. If my eyes hold out LOL.  couching

About me

I'm a library manager in rural New Zealand, and recently completed an Advanced Diploma of Arts & Creativity (Honours). I've been painting seriously for the last few years. Inspired by the local landscape, much of my work leans toward abstraction. My art can be found in galleries, exhibitions and private collections, primarily in New Zealand and the USA.
